Sweet Palermo packs even more vitamin C than an orange!
Each of the above-mentioned recipes features Sweet Palermo. This sweet pointed pepper can be served as a grilled pepper or as a stuffed pepper (either a stuffed vegetarian pepper or a stuffed pepper with minced meat), so it is a prime dinner idea during summer. And did you know that the main advantages of Sweet Palermo can be perfectly summed up in the following three words?
Sweet
When you first see the red sweet pointed pepper, you might assume it’s spicy instead of sweet. Nothing could be further from the truth! Sweet Palermo is at the top end of the sweetness scale, with a minimum brix level of 9 (and sometimes even 10).
Healthy
Compared to an orange, Sweet Palermo contains 3-4 times more vitamin C. This means that besides being sweet, it is also surprisingly healthy! In addition to vitamin C, the sweet pointed pepper is also a source of vitamins E, B6 and B11 (folate) and per 100 grams provides at least 15% of the recommended daily intake.
Versatile
As you’ve probably already gathered, this pepper is not just any ordinary veggie. Sweet Palermo can be eaten raw in salads, or even as a refreshing snack during summer. And due to its versatility, the pepper can also be enjoyed as followed: stuffed (either vegetarian or with meat), grilled… you name it! We hope we’ve convinced you to try this wonderful product, and that the above recipes have given you some inspiration for how you can enjoy it. The Sweet Palermo sweet pointed pepper has stolen our hearts, and we expect it will soon become your new ‘go to’ ingredient too!
