Sweet Palermo® - the sweetest pointed pepper
Sweet Palermo® is not just any pointed pepper: it is proven to be the sweetest pointed pepper compared to other varieties. Different consumer- and expert study proof repeatedly the difference compared to other (pointed) peppers and the higher liking of the consumer. Like for example this study of Wageningen University & Research Center.
Why is Sweet Palermo pepper so sweet?
Sweet Palermo naturally develops an extraordinarily high sugar content because it ripens on the plant for a very long time. This sugar content is expressed in Brix. Normal blocky peppers in general contain a Brix of around 6 whereas Sweet Palermo peppers have a Brix of 8 and higher. Supported by the juicy flesh, this creates an incredibly intense aroma that you can taste with every bite.
Sweet Palermo: The Award-Winning Pepper
Sweet Palermo consistently ranks as a top contender in every competition it enters. Since its debut in 2012, when it claimed the title of "Best Sweet Pepper of The Netherlands," Sweet Palermo has continued to impress. It has won the prestigious "Taste of the Year" award in Spain multiple times, and in 2024, it received the Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Quality Institute in Brussels for the second time.
