Lollo bionda is a leaf or "coral" lettuce with very curly leaves and a slightly bitter and nutty taste. It is the base for many colourful salad dishes and can be served with fried meat.
Preparation
Wash the lettuce, tear into small pieces and put into a salad bowl.
Cut tomatoes in halvess and add to the salad together with mozzarella balls.
Mix oil and vinegar and pour over the salad.
Tips from the author
A fresh and tasty salad for 4 people that is typically served in Italy after the pasta or main plate. Of course it can be served as a starter or side dish - and it is perfect to serve with a pizza too!
