Celery has a long sweet stalks with edible leaves often used in salads, soups and cooking. The ancient Greeks and Romans used celery as flavouring.
How to prepare
Just pull the stems away from the base and cut away the bottom parts. Trim the leaves if these are present and save them for your stews, soups or for making stocks.
The tougher outer stems are better for cooking, simply trim and chop, while the inner stems which are more tender are great for eating raw as snacks.
