In 2009 the family businesses Hoel and Bjertnæs merged their companies. Today we cultivate about 200 hectare of lettuce - Iceberg, hjertesalat (mini romaine) and Cosmo salad. The seedlings are made at the Åsaker farm – just 30 km south east of Oslo. The open field production is located in Vestfold (Nøtterøy - Tønsberg - Stokke area) - approxemately 100 km south of Oslo).
In season – March to October - we are approximately 80 employees on the farm - from Poland, Romania, Russia, Vietnam, China and Uganda. We emphisis on working together to produce the best lettuce possible.
Several thousand years old agriculture in this area is not a coincident. Fertile soils and fantastic climate, makes Vestfold a very good location for vegetable production.
