Cucumber Company Willems grows cucumbers on 1 hectare in Ewijk near Nijmegen.
We live in the Land of Maas and Waal. Our company is located near the embankment of the river De Waal. We live in the countryside with around us the sound of many birds and quiet. A perfect place for our beautiful product to grow.

Our motto is: Cultivation is sport. We work inbetween the green. In the morning you can smeel the greenhouse full of plants. The nice temperature in the greenhouse, being able to work in your t-shirt. You see the cucumber plants grow. You are constantly busy with the crop, the nutrition, the climate in the greenhouse. In addition, you are constantly busy with the weather. The first flower is always a special moment. The beginning of the first fruit. A greenhouse full of flowers in the making. A beautiful sight. Then comes the moment you can cut the first cucumbers. The sorting begins again. Pallets full of cucumbers which go to the auction.
Hard work, but with a lot of satisfaction!
Of course we also want you to enjoy our recipes. With a greenhouse full of cucumbers, you try something.
The attached recipe "Cucumber with apple and onion" arose when we got unexpected guests and we had no ingredients for a salad. We then looked around in our kitchen and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl, an onion from the sink and a fresh cucumber from our greenhouse. The unexpected combination of sweet, spicy and fresh is truly unique.
This salad is often on our menu.
We also have a great idea for an easy snack. Also arose spontaneously. A simple slice of cucumber with a nice lick of cream cheese and a little bit of chives. Very easy and very tasty.

Recently, also a German translation of the book came out, named "Gurken".
The book is printed in A4 format, with a hard cover, bound and has 80 pages.
