In 1795, the family Jung bought their first field and from then on managed a purely agricultural company which continuously has been developing and expanding. Out of that GARTENFRISCH Jung GmbH emerged more than 25 years ago.
Today, the company has about 400 ha under cultivation and mainly grows lettuces and vegetables including endives, frisée, radicchio, butterhead lettuce and different varieties of Salanova lettuce. Amongst others, GARTENFRISCH Jung also grows vegetables such as sweet corn, zucchini, red cabbage, white cabbage, and pumpkins. Therefore, about 65 per cent of the processed lettuce comes from own production. Beside the own production in Germany, the company has been investing into a Portuguese cultivation site ensuring the supply with own products also during the off-season.
